These Bags Hold Hope!
Guess what?
We applied for our industry’s most revered and coveted Pyramid Award. And whether we earn the honor or not, we won anyway because this campaign was special. It’s a campaign that started with a good idea that had a lot of heart. And Co-President, Robert Fiveash, gets big props for birthing this baby and doing yeoman’s work to bring it to life.
We have all been impacted by cancer. And, these bags hold hope! Through a unique supplier + distributor collab, a tech bag was created to help raise funds and awareness for American Cancer Society.
This campaign unveiled the ultimate supplier–distributor collaboration. We initiated the give bag, er back, product idea, looking for ways to support our client American Cancer Society. From the get-go, we requested we not make any money on the program. Our sole focus was to leverage the power of partnerships with a great, CSR-focused supplier who could execute and help us raise funds and brand awareness around something we have all been affected by, cancer. This partner was SanMar. And they really came through. Our role is to promote the campaign through our sales team and clients as well as through like-minded distributors who will join us, like our friends in Reciprocity Road.
SanMar developed the tagline: These Packs Hold Hope
The media used in the campaign (video, photography, social media, sampling, etc.) focuses on the work ACS does and the critical need surrounding cancer. The pack is made from high quality sustainable recycled polyester which was something both SanMar and Brand Fuel agreed was super important. The inside label QR code takes recipients to cancer.org to help ACS create a new donor and/or volunteer relationship. We hope this cause-marketing collaboration inspires more of its kind in our industry.
Who benefits?
- American Cancer Society: $5 per bag sold + marketing content and brand awareness and $250K!!
- Distributors: a new tech bag they can sell to clients with give-back element.
- End buyers: a pack they can proudly distribute to key audiences because of its connection to supporting ACS and CSR initiatives.
- End users: This backpack becomes merch they can proudly use to support ACS.
- SanMar: They will receive new bag (give bag) orders + positive CSR halo effect of donations/association with ACS reaching a goal of $250K!
- Brand Fuel: We make no money. Zero. Zilch. This is work that is important to us in how we realize our certified B Corp business and branded merch medium as a force for good in this world and our industry.
