Fun, Originality, Caring: The Basis for Our Best Place to Work Award
We are quite excited. About 2024. About our industry. About the growth and changes we are experiencing. Most importantly, we are excited about our people. When asked what three words best described our staff, the answers were, “Original, Caring and Fun.”
And with that, and because of our amazing team, we are proud to share that we were recognized by The Advertising Specialty Institute for being a Best Place to Work for 9 years running!
Here is the story, initially posted here.
Ingredients for a Best Place to Work: Brand Fuel Co-President Danny Rosin says the company’s B Corp certification “has become a guidepost for everything” and informs the distributor’s responsible sourcing efforts, hiring practices and everything in between. Adds Rosin, who co-runs the company’s Raleigh office along with long-time General Manager, Allison McLain: “The mixture of effort, education, dedication, patience, consistency, humility, focus, making hard but important choices and even having some fun is why we’re a decent place to hang your embroidered work hat.”
Fellow Co-President Robert Fiveash (Rosin’s best friend since high school and partner-in-crime, not unlike The Rolling Stones’ Keith and Mick origin story), credits the distributor’s “talented, caring staff” for defining the company’s culture. “They’re dedicated, welcoming, kind, optimistic, irreverent, learning-focused, creative, team- and solution-oriented and so much fun,” says Fiveash, who’s based in Brand Fuel’s Virginia Beach office. “Managers try to instill a philosophy of ‘empower and inspire’ versus ‘command and control.’ We engender a creative, fast-paced environment where quality work is respected, and a sense of community and reciprocity is nurtured in almost everything we do.”
Top Benefits & Perks: The list is long: Healthcare for everyone, Valentine’s Day off, flexible working hours, PTO for volunteer time, back-up support so staff can have real vacations, “wacky and meaningful” wellness events, concert tickets, continuing education, periodic free lunches and potluck-style events, adult beverages in company fridges, “best attitude” and “going the extra mile” recognition, Halloween at The Waffle House and unlimited self-promos.
